Wow, the Bomb Kills Everyone Within Five Meters!

• Junkrat has crazy spiked up black and white hair.
• He has a wooden leg.
• He has a very dark tan and strange white makeup.     
• He has a high pitched Australian accent.
• His skin is soft and smooth.
• He smells very strongly of ashes.
• Junkrat is a scientist who is in love with explosives and was driven mad by gas that was released by evil robots.
• Junkrat has a grenade launcher which fires grenades that bounces around until they explode.
• He can put down mines and he has the trigger to set them off. He also has a bear trap that immobilises anyone who steps on it.
• Junkrat’s strongest bomb is in his wheel and when it explodes, it kills anyone who is within five metres of him.

What is that?

The only sound is the sound of leaves rustling against each other!

The forest is sunless with trees spreading branches from left right and center. The setting is bumpy and rough with small damp hills. It is peaceful and quiet except for the sound of cicadas rubbing their legs together and leaves rustling against each other. There is a damp and muddy smell and also very strong scent of flowers. The forest is cluttered with twigs, litter and leaves. It is calm with a flowing breeze shaking the leaves and the branches.

My cousin caught a shark!

On Monday the sixteenth of April. I was in Raglan. I had gone to Raglan for Easter with my aunty, uncle, cousins, nana and grandad.

I went fishing with my uncle and cousins. my uncle is called Tom and my cousins are Hattie and Richard. First we put on our life jackets and then I swam out to the boat as there was a short distance between the steps and where the boat is. At first, the boat wouldn't start so Tom gave it a kick and then it started immediately

We went to their sacred place and started fishing. I hadn’t been fishing in years. Soon Richard felt something tugging on his line so he pulled up his rod as hard as he could so his hook would get the fish. Then he started winding it up and I was astounded by what he caught it was a shark it was too small though when Tom was getting it off the line, it was flopping its body around the place like crazy and it even tried to nip Tom. Meanwhile Harriet was lying there feeling bored complaining. Then I felt something on my fishing line and it turned out to be a snapper but it was also too small so we tossed it back in.

Then Hattie started complaining about being bored so we had to leave. While Tom was pulling up the anchor, we had one more go. Richard got something but by the time he pulled his rod up, it had eaten his bait. After Richard had one more go he had to put his fishing rod away. Before I knew it, I caught something colossal and Richard had to help me to holding the rod. Then Tom said, “Stop pulling!” so we stopped and it turned out that I had caught the anchor.

We went back and my other relatives were sitting in seats talking to each other, I hopped out of the boat and saw the fish that Richard had caught earlier and it was a gernard. Granddad Tom skinned and took all the meat off the fish. Meanwhile we went inside to get changed be cause we were wet. After that we all watched television for a while then we watched gamers guide to basically everything. After a few hours, we had dinner then we had to change into our pyjamas because it was late.

My favourite part of the day was when I caught the anchor because it was hilarious and Tom could not get the hook off.

Learning Intention: I am learning to understand and use the language features of a recount.

Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I use sequencing words to order my ideas about my fishing trip with my cousin.

I love completing my Orienteering course!

On Thursday the 30th of March, we had orienteering and I was the first to finish both maps by reaching the controls first. I also ran the course again under a timer.

The rules were that you had to use the map to locate each of the controls to clip off the card. I love orienteering and I can’t wait to have our next session.

Learning Intention: We are learning to write a verbal recount.                                                                   Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I record a verbal recount of our third Orienteering session.

Look how tall that giraffe is!

One day, my dad asked me If I wanted to go to my cousin Richard’s house, I said yes!               ( I didn’t realise that it was another one of my cousin’s birthday ). After that my dad told me to have breakfast so I had some corn flakes with milk. Soon after that I brushed my teeth quickly and put on a pair of Jandals and said good bye to my mum. Next thing I knew I was in my dad’s blue, shiny car and we took Joey my dog with us. we didn’t know how to use his seat belt so we just used his leash.

As we were backing out of our driveway all the windows were rolled down so that there was ventilation in the car. As soon as we rolled down the window Joey put his head out the window. Soon we were cruising down Panmure and my dad was listening to music. When we were going down my cousins lane there is a burned down house near Richards house. Richard is nine and I am eight. As soon as we got there, I got out of the car and my dad headed off to work, I quickly said bye dad and he drove off.

As soon as I went up the driveway they seemed to have already known I was there because the door swung open and Rose and Hattie were waving at me. When I went inside Richard was playing Ark survival evolved and I started playing. Ark survival evolved is a video game about dinosaurs and you have to tame the dinosaurs. Then my aunty Rachel told us to get in her black car. me and Richard hopped in the back and there were seven seats in that car.

I didn't realise we were going to the zoo until we got there. When we first entered the zoo staff members took a photo of us in front of a green screen. Then we were off to explore the zoo we got maps and went down a pathway. First we saw some  rat looking creatures which I didn't know what they were called. The birthday boy Harry was sitting in his pram and he was turning 3 I think. Then we had marshmallows, lollies and chips which I gave some to Harry because he couldn't reach.

Next we were walking down to the lions . We only saw two, one of them was  in a cave and the other one was in a jungle place so we kept on walking and found the meerkats area but they had been moved to another area of the zoo. Later we saw spiders, lizards, birds and all sorts of things. Eventually we had found a sitting area and had the leftovers of the food  that was leftover from our last break. When we were there, my dad came with his friend Harriet and Buggie.  When we were there  I chased Richard for a little bit and then we went to see some more animals. While we were walking, we saw my great uncle Andrew he is also really funny.

After that, we went to see the tigers, the elephants the zebras and giraffes. The giraffes were so tall. Then we finally saw the meerkats and there are holes to go in that gave us a better view. Then the tigers came right by the window so we went there. Andrew was being funny when we were there. Then we went back to the beginning and went on the playground, there were two slides they were both really long, there was also a plastic dragon to climb. Then my dad had to go to drop his friend off so he bought me a drink and then left.

Next we all had our drinks then packed up and left I had a sleepover at Richard’s house.

My favourite part was when we were next to the tigers by the window because it was really cool to be right up and close to them.

My Sleepover

My Sleepover

On the weekend I went to Mrs Dance’s house to have a sleep over with Daniel and Emma.  Daniel is Mrs Dance’s grandson and Emma is Mrs Dance’s granddaughter.  Daniel is the same age as me.  We are seven years old. 

First we did some science. We did some experiments with pieces of lollipops.  We banged the lollies with a hammer three times to find out how much sugar they had in them.  We didn’t have any measuring things so we couldn’t draw a conclusion as to how much sugar there was in each lolly, but there seemed to be a lot.

After that we went to the dairy with Daniel’s mum.  At the dairy I bought a packet of fruit bursts and an ice block.  The ice block had four flavours in it.  There was mango, chocolate, apple and strawberry.  It tasted delicious!

Then we went back to Mrs Dance’s house.  On the way back we saw a man in our school.  He was standing near the hedge by the school front gate.  He gave me a fright because I didn’t expect to see him there.  We also saw my dad on the other side of the road.  We waved to each other.

When we got back to Mrs Dance’s house we had dinner with Mrs Dance.  Mrs Dance had been away, but she came back for dinner.  We had the same thing for dinner as we had at our house on Friday.  We had nachos and chilli con canea.  I love chilli con canea and it tasted great.

After dinner we went back to Daniel’s room and we did some more science experiments.  Then we had dessert.  First we went down to the fridge in the basement to get the ice cream and then we took it up to the dinning room.  It was passion fruit ice cream and I stirred it up to make cream.  When it’s creamy it is easier and nicer to eat.  Next we went to bed and we got twelve bed toys each to sleep with.

When we got up the next morning we did some more experiments with the lollies.  We heated them until they melted, but then we couldn’t find them, so we concluded that the experiment failed.  Then we watched the cartoon network. 

After that Daniel and I went over to my place and we ate toasted sandwiches together.  Later we made a hut in my room.  My mum helped.  We played some more and then Daniel went home with his mum.  We had lots of fun playing at each other’s houses.  I would like to do it all over again.

The Aeroplane Movie

In the holidays I went to America with my Mum and Dad.  On the plane I watched the ‘Flash’ movie.  The movie screen was on the back of the seat and I had little earphones.

The main character in the movie was ‘The Flash’.  The Flash’s real name was Barry. At the beginning of the movie Barry didn’t know that he was ‘The Flash’. 

One night Barry was woken up by a loud sound.  It was coming from downstairs.  Barry went downstairs and he noticed that the water in the fish tank was floating in the air.  It was moving slowly but there was nothing holding it up.  There were also some lightening men in the lounge.  The red one killed Barry’s mother.  The green one took Barry to safety.  The green man was actually Barry from the future, but the present day Barry didn’t know.

In the middle of the movie Barry dreamt that he had run to find his father, but his father had been taken to prison by the police.  This turned out to be real.

 At the end of the movie something at Star Labs blew up.  It was called the Particle Accelerator.  When it blew up it gave lots of people special powerful abilities.  There were only two good people who were affected by these special powers.  They were Barry and a girl.  The people that Barry had to fight were bullies from his school.  Sometimes Barry succeeded and sometimes he didn’t, so he tried again.  The movie had a good ending because Barry found out who killed his mother.  It was a man who was in disguise.  Barry succeeded in putting this man in a special prison.

Thank You Holy Spirit

Thank you Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit, thank you for my family.  This weekend I spent time with my family.  We went to my cousin’s birthday.  Her name is Rose and she turned one year old. 

We went to a pub to celebrate Rose’s birthday.  The pub is called the ‘Zoo Keeper’s Son’.  The pub had statues of animals and animal heads are hung on the walls.  There was a Zebra head and a monkey statue. 

My cousin Richard and I hid behind the couch but my mum found us.  Richard is older than me.  He is seven years old.  His birthday is on June 29^th, so he will be eight years old soon. 

For lunch we sat at a long rectangle table.  Richard and I had hotdogs.  We had two hotdogs each.  They were not the normal hotdogs.  They were the special hotdogs that are covered in batter.  The batter was crunchy and the hotdogs were hot.  They tasted delicious.  Richard had to order two more hotdogs because when he wasn’t looking his two sisters, Hattie and Charlotte, stole them.  I told Richard, but his sisters had already taken a bite out of both of his hotdogs.  Nobody saw them do it.  They were quick!

We all sang Happy Birthday to Rose and we had a vanilla birthday cake.  The icing was white and the whole cake was vanilla white.  There were silver coloured balls on the cake.  They tasted delicious when I sucked them and even more delicious when I bit into them.  We all had a great time at Rose’s birthday celebration.

Mother’s Day

On Friday my mum, dad and I went to Austria for Mother’s Day.  We went by plane and I fell asleep in the plane.  When we got to Austria my mum’s mum (my grandma) and my mum’s dad (my granddad) picked up from the airport.  Then we went to my grandma’s and grandad’s home.  They live in an apartment.  It was late and so we all went to sleep. 

The next day we went to a café for breakfast.  It was Mother’s Day.  I wished my mum a happy Mother’s Day and she gave me lots of hugs and kisses.  Next we went for a walk in the forest.  It was snowing so it was cold.  We had a terrific Mother’s Day together.  I was happy and so were my Mum and Dad, and my grandparents.

How to Train Your Dragon 2

In the holidays I went to the movies with Te Riana, Augustine and Harley.  They are my friends.  Te Riana’s Nana and Harley’s Dad, Joseph, took us to the movies.  We went to the movie theatre at Sylvia Park. 

The movie was about dragons fighting other dragons and humans.  At the beginning of the movie the dragons practised racing.  They called it racing but it was more like soccer.  They didn’t play with a ball.  Instead they played with a sheep.  They had to fly over the goal and drop the sheep into the goal. 

The main characters in the movie are Hiccup and Toothless.  Hiccup is a boy and Toothless is a dragon. In the middle of the story Hiccup finds his mum. 

The end of the story was sad.  The good ice dragon died and then the bad ice dragon told all of the other dragons to be bad.  The dragons were kind of blind and so they couldn’t see each other.  Toothless fought Hiccup.  Toothless tried to breath fire onto Hiccup but Hiccup’s dad pushed Hiccup away.  Then Hiccup’s dad died from Toothless’ fire breathe.  But Hiccup was ok.  Hiccup’s Dad was the chief and so when he died Hiccup became the new chief.

After the movies we went to McDonald’s for lunch.  I had a fun day at the movies with my friends.
