Ladybugs love eating aphids!

Coccinelidae is the ladybug's scientific name.

Ladybugs are not actually bugs, but they are a type of beetle.

A ladybug has two sets of wings, the outer layer is for protection and the inner layer is for flying.
When ladybugs get scared, they start to bleed from their knees.
Some ladybugs don’t have any spots on their bodies but some have up to twenty spots. Ladybug’s name came from the virgin Mary.

When a predator approaches a ladybug instead of flying away they will play dead. Lady bugs have small hairs on their feet (which are spiky) so that they can climb walls.

Ladybugs can eat 10,000 aphids in their whole lifetime.
The colours on a ladybug scare away predators because predators think that they are poisonous.

Ladybugs are very small but important creatures in our ecosystem.

Learning Intention: We are learning to write a description.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I follow the structure of a description to write about ladybugs.

The four month old ruler of the universe!

Plot - There are cookies that make babies talk and everyone thought it was Pete, but it was actually a four month baby. Pete gets blamed and gets in trouble when it was his doing.
My favourite characters - Pete and Ellie Pete is my favourite character because Pete keeps trying and never gives up.
Recommendation - Yes, because I found it very interesting
My favourite part was when Ellie bit Loraine's finger because she was in such a shock that the baby talked.

Learning Intention: We are learning to understand the text that we are reading.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I complete a book review using information from the book Pete and the ruler of the universe.
